Tamil Nadu is making strides in sports by setting up dedicated pickleball courts throughout the state, according to Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. The initiative aims to promote new age sports and provide opportunities for young talent through structured programs and quality facilities.
The inauguration of various franchisees for the first Indian Pickleball League was announced, to take place in Delhi from December 1 to 7, 2025. Tamil Nadu's support reflects its vibrant sports development agenda as the state hosts numerous national and international sporting events.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister M K Stalin, the state is developing a decentralized modern sports ecosystem. The Indian Pickleball League, supported by the Times Group and Indian Pickleball Association, is poised to become one of India's most followed sporting leagues, featuring teams like Mumbai Smashers and Chennai Super Warriors.
