Mumbai cruised to a seven-wicket victory over Vidarbha, thanks to Ayush Mhatre's 53-ball unbeaten 110 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. The defending champions overcame an early collapse to chase down Vidarbha's 193-run target with 13 balls to spare.
Mhatre, whose innings included eight towering sixes, fired his maiden T20 century, setting the platform for Mumbai after early wickets put them on the back foot. Suryakumar Yadav's 35 further steadied the innings before Shivam Dube's quick-fire 39 not out sealed the win at Ekana Stadium.
Vidarbha's innings was anchored by half-centuries from Atharva Taide and Aman Mokhade, who gave them a strong start. However, disciplined bowling from Dube and Sairaj Patil restricted them to 192/9, a total Mumbai surpassed with relative ease to boost their campaign.
