George Russell of Mercedes finished second, trailing Piastri by 4.951 seconds, while Norris secured third place, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen took fourth. The main Grand Prix race is yet to come, with 50 points still available and Norris poised for a potential championship victory.
Piastri attributed his success to a smooth performance and strong pace at the Lusail circuit. Meanwhile, Norris acknowledged the overtaking challenges, emphasizing the importance of qualifying.
