Ex-India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has voiced his opinion that the place of cricket legends Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the One Day International (ODI) squad should not be under scrutiny. Their extensive contributions over the years should earn them a special treatment, according to Bangar.

While the national selection committee and head coach Gautam harbor concerns about Kohli and Sharma maintaining form and fitness until the 2027 World Cup, recent performances tell a different story. Kohli has scored two centuries and Sharma three half-centuries in the last six ODIs.

Bangar emphasizes that their experience means they don't need to play as many games as younger players to prove themselves. He highlights their role in boosting the team's confidence following a dismal Test series against South Africa, where Kohli and Sharma's sheer presence transformed the dressing room atmosphere.
