In a significant announcement, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta awarded cricketer Pratika Rawal Rs 1.5 crore for her extraordinary performance in the recent ICC Women's World Cup. Rawal, who scored 308 runs, emerged as a standout performer, ranking fourth in the tournament's top run-scorers.
Despite being sidelined due to an injury in the game against Bangladesh, Rawal's achievements have been recognized by the Delhi government. Chief Minister Gupta praised Rawal for her commitment and progress, celebrating her as a symbol of women's empowerment and Delhi's potential to nurture talent.
On November 2, after India's World Cup victory, Rawal, although on a wheelchair, joined her teammates for on-field celebrations. Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and DDCA President Rohan Jaitley also marked the occasion.
