An FIR has been filed by Haryana Police following the tragic death of a teenage basketball player in Rohtak, Haryana. The hoop's collapse during practice led to his demise, prompting his family to seek justice against negligence.
The incident, which also saw another teen die in Jhajjar, has thrown the spotlight on the state's sports infrastructure. The opposition criticized the state administration for negligence, while families voiced concerns over the playground's unsafe conditions.
Haryana Sports Minister Gaurav Gautam has since announced a funding of Rs 114 crore for repairing and upgrading stadiums across the state and held meetings to ensure the safety of the sports infrastructure.
