Four key members of Team India, including head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav, made an important stop at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Cuttack ahead of their T20 match against South Africa. The group, accompanied by security, sought divine blessings for their upcoming sporting encounter.
Among the visitors was Suryakumar Yadav, joined by wife Devisha Shetty, who joined in prayers amid tight security at the historic 12th-century temple. ''Jai Jagannath'' resounded as the couple, along with other team members, sought blessings from the revered sibling deities, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath.
According to Puri SP Prateek Singh, special arrangements ensured a seamless visit for the players, who were offered a special puja by servitor Rabi Pratihari. After the religious ceremony, the team returned to Bhubaneswar, buoyed and blessed ahead of their series opener.
