Karnataka CM Boosts Athlete Opportunities with New Reservation Policies
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced that the state will implement reservations for athletes, including 3% in the Forest Department and Police Department, and 2% in other departments. The government has already given direct appointments to several athletes, enhancing support for sports like Kabaddi.

In a move to enhance opportunities for athletes, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has revealed new reservation policies. The state will offer a 3% reservation in both the Forest and Police Departments, alongside a 2% reservation in other departments for sporting talents.
These policies were announced in response to a legislative council inquiry by MLC Ivan D'Souza. The state government has already provided direct appointments to 13 medal-winning athletes in major international competitions, including the Olympics and Asian Games.
Additionally, the state has extended appointments to 70 constables and 14 PSIs in the Police Department. Further efforts to promote Kabaddi are also being considered, highlighting the administration's commitment to bolstering opportunities for sports enthusiasts.
