Wallabies All Set: Key Players Return for January Camp

Flyhalf Tom Lynagh, scrumhalf Tate McDermott, and fullback Tom Wright have been recalled to the Wallabies squad for a Sydney training camp in January. Lynagh was rested during the November tour, McDermott is recovering from a hamstring injury, and Wright is overcoming an ACL injury.

The Wallabies are gearing up for their next 17-test campaign with crucial squad recalls announced. Flyhalf Tom Lynagh, scrumhalf Tate McDermott, and fullback Tom Wright will join the training camp in Sydney this January. Lynagh took a step back during the November series after a grueling initiation in the British & Irish Lions tests.

Both McDermott and Wright are on the road to recovery from respective hamstring and ACL injuries. Their absence was felt in the Wallabies’ recent performance, which saw only two victories out of nine matches. The January camp will serve as a learning opportunity from the past year, says coach Joe Schmidt.

Alongside the seasoned players, newcomer Prop Massimo De Lutiis gets his first shot in the enlarged 40-man squad. It marks the first collective look at the team's cohesion and preparedness ahead of the Super Rugby Pacific season.
