Norris clinched the championship victory in the final race of the season held in Abu Dhabi, narrowly surpassing Verstappen in a closely contested 24-round series. His achievement marks him as the 35th Formula One champion and the 11th Briton to win the prestigious title since its inception in 1950.
At 26 years old, Norris expressed his delight at fulfilling a lifelong dream and humorously addressed a fine incurred during the event. Verstappen, though absent, was bestowed the F1 Action of the Year award for a notable overtaking maneuver and extended his commendations to the McLaren team for an exceptional season.
