The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is witnessing growing international interest in its Pakistan Super League (PSL) as it extends the deadline for bidding on two new teams. Investors now have until December 22 to submit their applications, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced.
The extension comes amid positive responses from potential investors in the United States, the UK, and Gulf countries. To capitalize on this interest, the PCB hosted a promotional event in New York, with notable appearances from Pakistan team players and Test captain Shan Masood.
Critics in cricket circles have raised questions about the costs of these international roadshows and the necessity to extend the bidding deadline. Additionally, former captains Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram, present at the London roadshow, are expected to join the New York event. Reports suggest a reserve price of 130 crores PKR (approx. 470,000 USD) for each new team, though the PCB hasn't confirmed this officially.
