Tragic Loss: Two Young Athletes Found Dead in Hostel

Two teenage athletes, Sandra A (18) and Vyshnavi V (15), were discovered dead in a suspected suicide pact at their hostel. The incident took place at a SAI center, and an investigation is underway. Officials report no suicide note was found, and autopsies are being conducted.

In a tragic incident, two young athletes were found dead in their hostel room on Thursday, an apparent suicide pact compelling the police's attention. The teenagers, identified as Sandra A from Chaliyam Kozhikode district and Vyshnavi V from Muthakkal Thiruvananthapuram district, had been residing in the SAI hostel for two years.

Initial investigations revealed both athletes were discovered hanging from ceiling fans using bedsheets. The discovery was made after they failed to attend a morning training session, prompting hostel authorities to break open the room.

An FIR has been registered at Kollam East police station under Section 194 for unnatural death. The investigation continues with statements being taken from fellow athletes, trainers, and family. Their mobile phones will also be examined as officials seek to uncover the reasons behind the tragic event.
