In a stunning display of skill and resilience, Md Nawab emerged victorious at the Pre-Qualifying I of the PGTI Qualifying School 2026. Held at Ahmedabad's Kensville Golf and Country Club, Nawab secured his win with a one-under 143 score, standing out among a competitive field of 141 golfers.

The seasoned 45-year-old professional golfer, who was in a strong position overnight at tied second, stayed consistent with his three birdies and three bogeys whilst overcoming two late bogeys. A crucial chip-in birdie on the 18th hole epitomized his impressive play throughout the event. Nawab attributed his success to his precise chipping, putting, and flawless iron shots over the last two days.

Expressing gratitude, Nawab credited his elder brother and mentor, Md Islam, for his game's improvement, along with fellow golfer Om Prakash Chouhan for valuable insights contributing to his performance. Meanwhile, amateur Aryav Shah and Uganda's Marvin Kibirige shared the second spot, both finishing at even-par 144.
