In an intense 14th match of the World Legends Pro T20 League, the Delhi Warriors encountered a setback as they faced their first loss against the Rajasthan Lions by 23 runs, despite already securing a semi-final spot. The match, though closely contested, saw the Warriors still maintain their position at the top of the league table, proving their robust performance throughout the tournament.
The Delhi Warriors, after opting to bowl first, executed commendable control over the Lions' innings for the most part, largely due to an outstanding bowling performance by Suboth Bhati, who claimed five wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs. Bhati's strategic breakthroughs kept the Lions tethered. Nevertheless, Rajasthan found critical momentum towards the end, driven by a rapid 33-run burst in 7 balls by Abhimanyu Mithun, lifting their total to a formidable 185 for 7.
Chasing 186, the Warriors succumbed to a relentless bowling attack led by Rajasthan, which saw regular fall of wickets thwart any chance of a successful chase. Although highlighted by a resilient 66 from Pawan Negi, Delhi was all out for 162 in 19.1 overs. Anureet Singh's tight 2 for 15 was pivotal in securing the Lions' victory. Despite the win, the Lions finished second on the points table due to an inferior net run rate compared to the Warriors.
