Australian cricket paceman Pat Cummins has made the tough decision to pull out of the T20 World Cup. Cummins cited his ongoing recovery from a back injury and the importance of being fit for the forthcoming Test season as crucial factors in his decision.

Initially optimistic, Cummins was ready to participate after Australia's tour of the West Indies last July. However, a later scan mandated additional rest, necessitating his withdrawal from the tournament where he was replaced by Ben Dwarshuis.

Cummins looks forward to the intensive Test schedule starting in August with two series against Bangladesh, followed by challenging tours of South Africa, New Zealand, and India. Despite his T20 absence, Cummins hopes to return as the captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL.
