Haryana is set to boost sports opportunities for athletes with disabilities by constructing a specialized stadium equipped with residential facilities. Announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at the Special Olympics Bharat-Athletics National Championship in Rohtak, this project echoes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of an 'Accessible India'.

During the event, Haryana's Minister of State for Sports, Gaurav Gautam, revealed plans to develop sports facilities for PwD athletes in Gurugram and a model sports centre for North India. More than 500 talented athletes from 26 states participated in the championship, demonstrating the extraordinary achievements possible with proper support and training.

Special Olympics Bharat President Mallika Nadda praised Haryana's role in advancing sports, noting that integrating special athletes can significantly contribute to the nation’s development. Saini emphasized that the core of the Special Olympics goes beyond medals, showcasing the resilience of the human spirit and reinforcing the importance of an inclusive society.
