In a decisive move to enhance security and oversight, Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit has mandated the installation of CCTV cameras at all sports facilities across the state. Chairing a high-level Sports Department review meeting, he emphasized the need for robust security measures to bolster the state's sports infrastructure.
The chief secretary instructed the development of a comprehensive monitoring framework to assess the functioning of Khel Clubs. Regular inspections at the secretary level have been mandated to ensure the effectiveness of sports initiatives, while partnerships with local industries aim to boost youth participation in sports activities and events.
Transparency and fairness were underscored as Amrit directed the empanelment of sports suppliers through an open process, ensuring quality and affordability of sports goods across Bihar. Price caps on equipment are intended to prevent market monopolies, safeguarding the interests of local sports entities.
