The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the postponement of its much-anticipated three-day meeting in Doha, Qatar, originally set for March 25-27, due to escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.
According to an ICC insider, the meeting, which was to see attendance from ICC Board Directors, Chief Executives, Committee Members, and senior leaders, will be rescheduled for next month within the same continent. An official communication was dispatched to ICC members on Saturday, just one day before the T20 World Cup final clash between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
This decision reflects the ICC's ongoing commitment to safe governance. Initially, Qatar was chosen as the venue because of the country's rising involvement in cricket, demonstrated by the ICC's collaborative efforts with the Qatar Cricket Association and Olympic Committee, fostering significant development in the sport locally in recent years.
