In a bid to reinforce security across Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Mehta has instructed intensified surveillance, particularly around tourist and religious sites. This decision was made during a security review meeting attended by senior police officials, according to a police spokesman on Sunday.
Mehta highlighted the importance of heightened vigilance and instructed officers to concentrate efforts on areas populated by minorities, tourist hotspots, and religious sites. Strategies include enhanced foot patrolling, strategic surprise checkpoints, and extensive area domination to counter potential threats from anti-national and anti-social entities.
The SSP also focused on community-friendly policing while urging firm action against those involved in drug-related offenses and bovine smuggling. Officers will also pursue property attachment proceedings against habitual offenders, aiming to dismantle the terror ecosystem's remnants and maintain peace in the region.
