Empowering Women: Odisha's Subhadra Yojana Disburses Rs 5,100 Crore

In a significant move on International Women's Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan disbursed over Rs 5,100 crore to more than one crore women beneficiaries of the Subhadra Yojana. The funds were distributed at a special event in Puri, with several ministers participating virtually from various districts.
This marks the fourth instalment of Subhadra Yojana, aimed at empowering women financially and socially. Each eligible woman received Rs 5,000, totalling Rs 10,000 annually, contributing to their financial independence. Majhi emphasized the role of the scheme in fostering a prosperous and Viksit Odisha.
The ambitious program, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024, has transferred over Rs 15,000 crore so far, enhancing economic activity and supporting small traders and artists. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida highlighted the program's pivotal role in shaping a developed Odisha by 2036.
