Debi Daimiri's journey from a small village in Assam to winning a silver medal at the Khelo India Tribal Games is a testament to grit and determination. Convincing financial struggles plagued her path, yet she persevered through the adversities to emerge as a leading figure in women's wrestling.

At only seven, Debi faced the tragic loss of her parents, leaving her to fend for herself with the support of her uncle and aunt. Desperate to pursue wrestling, she juggled various odd jobs to fund her training at the Khelo India Centre, eventually finding steady employment at a resort near Kaziranga.

Under the mentorship of coach Anustup Narah, Debi honed her skills and broke onto the competition scene, even while working tirelessly to make ends meet. Her dedication to the sport is mirrored in her ambitions to continue achieving greatness, both nationally and internationally, supported by her husband and family. (ANI)
