Sahith Theegala kicked off the RBC Heritage tournament with a promising opening round of 2-under 69, securing a tie for 27th on the leaderboard.
Despite trailing Sweden's Ludvig Aberg by six strokes, Theegala demonstrated potential with three birdies in the opening four holes, finishing strong at 4-under before declining slightly on the back nine.
Other Indian-origin golfers, Akshay Bhatia and Sudarshan Yellamaraju, faced challenges. Bhatia ended with 2-over 73, while Yellamaraju finished 3-over 74. Meanwhile, defending champion Justin Thomas struggled with a 5-over 76 start.
