Fans Return: Pakistan Super League Final to Open Doors Amid Fuel Crisis
Next month's Pakistan Super League final will welcome fans back to the stadiums after matches were played behind closed doors due to a nationwide fuel shortage. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the decision following approval from Pakistan's Prime Minister, despite ongoing austerity measures.
The Pakistan Super League final, slated for next month, will see fans returning to the stands, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday. This follows a period where matches were held behind closed doors due to a fuel shortage across the country.
Naqvi revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while initially adhering to austerity measures that minimized fuel consumption, approved the attendance of spectators for the PSL 11 Final. The move was made after requests from franchise owners.
The announcement comes as the PSL league phase ends, with Peshawar Zalmi leading the standings. Pakistan, which is navigating a fuel crisis linked to conflicts affecting global oil routes, has also played a role in mediating talks between the U.S. and Iran.
