Pakistan Takes Center Stage in Iran-US Diplomatic Talks

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the nation’s key role in facilitating ongoing Iran-US dialogue aimed at achieving regional peace. Despite uncertainties, Pakistan is actively engaging with foreign ministers and emphasizing the primacy of official statements to guide media coverage.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, announced on Saturday the country's continued efforts to facilitate Iran-US dialogues aimed at fostering peace and stability across the region. The announcement comes amid uncertainties in the second round of negotiations.

During a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar emphasized the importance of media focusing on official statements to safeguard the integrity of the facilitation process. Dar's statement followed his discussions with Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty regarding ongoing diplomatic initiatives.

While Iran's official stance remains that no meeting with the US is planned, US officials, including Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, are scheduled to meet with Iranian representatives in Pakistan, reflecting Pakistan's pivotal mediation role.
