Xavier Bartlett endured a tough outing for Punjab Kings during Saturday's IPL 2026 fixture against Delhi Capitals, allowing 69 runs in just four overs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. Despite capturing a crucial wicket of Nitish Rana, Bartlett's economy rate of 17.20 set an unwanted franchise record as DC surpassed the 260-run mark for the first time in IPL history.

Bartlett's figures of 1/69 now stand as the worst by any PBKS bowler, surpassing Mujeeb Ur Rahman's 0/66 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. Arshdeep Singh ranks third with his 1/66 against Mumbai Indians in 2023. On the field, Delhi Capitals were propelled by KL Rahul's unbeaten 152 and Rana's explosive 91, allowing them to post an imposing 264/2 upon electing to bat first.

Despite an early breakthrough for PBKS, Shashank Singh's dropped catch of Rahul proved pivotal as the batter went on to dismantle the Punjab attack. Rahul reached his sixth IPL century off 47 balls, with Rana contributing a momentum-boosting 91, including a 28-run over from Bartlett. Delhi maintained their aggressive approach, reaching 200 runs in just 16 overs, while PBKS's bowlers, including Arshdeep, Stoinis, and Chahal, struggled to contain the onslaught.
