MS Dhoni's Lingering Calf Injury: Return to IPL Postponed
Stephen Fleming, Chennai Super Kings' head coach, announced that MS Dhoni's return to IPL is delayed due to a calf injury sustained during a warm-up game. Dhoni's recovery is ongoing with the physio team, but his return seems uncertain as CSK faces challenges in their current season performance.
Chennai Super Kings' head coach, Stephen Fleming, announced on Sunday that MS Dhoni's anticipated return to the Indian Premier League would be further delayed due to a fresh calf injury. The setback occurred during a warm-up game, forcing Dhoni into a cautious rehabilitation process.
Fleming highlighted Dhoni's commitment, saying, "He's pretty keen. The calf is tough. If he takes off and rips the calf again, then he will be gone." Despite attending training sessions, Dhoni's activities have been limited, and Fleming noted his progress in rehabilitation, emphasizing the collaborative efforts with the team physios.
As CSK confronts their fifth loss in eight matches, Fleming reflected on recent challenges against Gujarat Titans. CSK struggled with the conditions, scoring 158/7, which Gujarat overtook in just 16.4 overs. With a break before the game against Mumbai Indians, Dhoni's potential return remains a focal point.
