Injury Setbacks: Fast Bowlers’ Comeback Delayed
Indian fast bowlers Akash Deep and Harshit Rana are unlikely to participate in the upcoming home series against Afghanistan and the UK tour due to ongoing injury rehabilitation. Both players are contracted with Kolkata Knight Riders, yet missed the IPL. Recovery might extend into the Duleep Trophy season.
Concerns have arisen over the fitness of Indian fast bowlers Akash Deep and Harshit Rana, as they are likely to miss the upcoming matches against Afghanistan and the white ball series in the United Kingdom.
While Akash Deep is recuperating from a back injury, Harshit Rana is recovering from knee surgery following an unfortunate ligament tear just before the T20 World Cup. Sources within BCCI report that both bowlers, associated with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, are undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation.
Currently in the strengthening phase, their return to competitive cricket is contingent on completing 'Return To Play' protocols, and they are anticipated to potentially make a comeback in August during the Duleep Trophy.
