Mushfiqur Rahim's Record-Breaking Century Leads Bangladesh's Charge Against Pakistan
Veteran Bangladeshi cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim reached his 14th Test century, becoming the highest Test century scorer for Bangladesh. His innings also saw him surpass 16,000 international runs. Bangladesh, aiming for a series sweep against Pakistan, set a challenging 437-run target after Rahim's stellar performance in Sylhet.
Bangladesh's stalwart cricketer, Mushfiqur Rahim, added another feather to his distinguished cap by scoring his 14th Test century, during the third day of the second Test against Pakistan at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. This achievement enabled him to surpass Mominul Haque as the leading Test century scorer for Bangladesh.
In his 102nd Test appearance, Rahim achieved the milestone with a boundary off Mohammad Abbas's delivery, earning a standing ovation. Rahim's impressive 137-run performance not only fueled Bangladesh's innings but also marked his entry into the 16,000 international runs club, the first for any Bangladeshi.
At 39, Rahim remains Bangladesh's top run-scorer in Test cricket, amassing 6,763 runs. His Sylhet innings comprised 12 fours and a six, crucial in setting a formidable 437-run target for Pakistan. Following a victorious opening Test in Dhaka, Bangladesh is poised to secure a series whitewash with a win in this match.
