Jonas Vingegaard claimed his fourth stage win at the Giro d'Italia during the climb to Cari, solidifying his lead in the race. The Danish rider's solo attack marked a pivotal moment as he continued to dominate the standings. With more stages ahead, his victory appears increasingly certain.

Jonas Vingegaard demonstrated his supremacy in uphill finishes at the Giro d'Italia by launching a decisive solo assault on the climb to Cari, securing victory on stage 16.

On his Giro debut, the Dane clinched his fourth stage win, tightening his grip on the leader’s jersey with the overall title now within sight. Vingegaard had expressed his ambition to win a stage while wearing the pink jersey, a promise that materialized during the 113-km ride from Bellinzona.

Despite facing formidable challenges, including the shortest road stage of the race and the taxing climbs in the Swiss Alps, Vingegaard overcame the odds, with support from his Visma-Lease a Bike team, to finish ahead of competitors Felix Gall and Jai Hindley, further cementing his lead.
