The Delhi government has approved the renaming of Rohini West Metro Station as 'Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital Metro Station' and Dwarka Metro Station as 'Dwarka-Kakrola Metro Station'.

A newly built sports complex in Rohini will be named 'Atal Khel Parisar'.

The decisions were approved at a meeting of the State Names Authority (SNA) chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat, according to a statement.

Rohini East Metro Station will be renamed as 'Rohini Metro Station' to provide a clearer identity and improve convenience for commuters, it stated.

The government has also approved the naming of the under-construction sports complex in Begampur, Rohini, after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A statue of the Bharat Ratna awardee will also be installed at the complex, it said.

The proposal to rename the under-construction hospital in Jwalapuri as 'Baba Ramdevji Maharaj Hospital' was also cleared during the meeting.

The government approved renaming Britannia Chowk in Shakurpur to 'Ashwini Chopra (Minna) Chow'.

The chief secretary, urban development secretary, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) managing director and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) director, attended the meeting, the statement said.

Gupta said the decisions were aimed at honouring personalities who made significant contributions to society while preserving Delhi's cultural and historical identity.
