Chinnappa and Indian Golfers Make Strong Start at Morocco Event

Trishul Chinnappa and three other Indian golfers made impressive gains to enter the top 10 after the first round of the AM Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars 2026. They are three strokes behind the leader, with more challenges ahead as they continue to seek their first tour victory.

Trishul Chinnappa bolstered his position with a remarkable late charge, recording five birdies in his last six holes during the AM Green IGPL Morocco Rising Stars 2026. His performance propelled him and three fellow Indian golfers into the top 10 after the opening round of the $160,000 tournament. Sudhir Sharma, Raghav Chugh, and Syed Saqib Ahmed joined Chinnappa in an eighth-place tie, trailing the leader Hoho Yue from Hong Kong by three shots.

In the event co-sanctioned by the AM Green Indian Golf Premier League, all four Indian players remain in pursuit of their maiden tour victory. The stunning backdrop of Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort served as the grounds for their efforts. Chinnappa overcame early struggles, marking five birdies in the concluding holes of his round.

Each Indian golfer showcased resilience with impressive gains on the challenging course. Sharma's initial holes included an eagle and two birdies, while Saqib and Chugh recorded exceptional nines. Despite setbacks, other competitors like Pukhraj Gill and Karandeep Kochhar aim to advance in subsequent rounds.
