Ruturaj Gaikwad has been called up to the India A squad for the upcoming tri-nation series in Sri Lanka after Riyan Parag was forced to withdraw due to a hamstring injury. Gaikwad, known for his leadership at Chennai Super Kings, steps in as the new vice-captain for the series.
Parag, currently leading the Rajasthan Royals, had been dealing with an injury during the IPL season and will be undergoing rehabilitation for about three months. The tri-nation series, commencing on June 9, includes Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A, and India A. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced these changes and stated that Parag's recovery will be handled at their Centre of Excellence.
