Ferrari Sets the Pace at Monaco GP Practice: Leclerc Shines at Home
Ferrari impressed during Friday's practice sessions at the Monaco Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton finishing as the fastest. Returning to the narrow street circuit, Ferrari emerged as favorites, while Mercedes faced challenges. Red Bull's Max Verstappen also showed promise, and incidents kept the atmosphere intense.
Ferrari established itself as a contender for the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, showcasing exceptional speed during Friday's practice sessions. Local hero Charles Leclerc delighted fans by posting the quickest time in the first session, only to be slightly outpaced by Lewis Hamilton in the second.
This return to Europe's demanding street circuits provided Ferrari an opportunity to challenge the dominance of Mercedes, which has won all five races this season. Although Hamilton, a three-time Monaco winner, remains in pursuit of his first victory since joining Ferrari, he placed second after Leclerc in the earlier session.
Meanwhile, Red Bull's Max Verstappen consistently placed third, indicating potential for a strong performance on Sunday. Despite a scare for Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar, who crashed into the safety fencing, the practice sessions set the stage for what promises to be a thrilling qualifying on Saturday.
