Zverev on the Verge of First Grand Slam Glory at Roland Garros
Alexander Zverev advances to the Roland Garros final for the second time, defeating Jakub Mensik. Zverev now aims to capture his first Grand Slam title against Flavio Cobolli. His consistent performance in Paris places him in his fourth Grand Slam final, highlighting his rise in the tennis world.
German tennis star Alexander Zverev is just one win away from claiming his first Grand Slam title, following his semi-final victory at Roland Garros. The second seed delivered a disciplined display against Czech competitor Jakub Mensik, winning 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 on Friday night.
Zverev's triumph propels him into his fourth Grand Slam final and marks his second appearance in the final at the French Open. Despite a resurgence from the 20-year-old Mensik in the third set, Zverev maintained his composure to secure a spot in Sunday's championship match against 10th seed Flavio Cobolli.
The draw fell in Zverev's favor with early exits from Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic, yet he continued to uphold his level of play, losing just two sets across six matches. His persistence has etched his name in the record books as one of only five active men's players to reach multiple finals at Roland Garros. The 29-year-old, who previously came close to victory in Paris, the US Open, and Australian Open, aims for his maiden Grand Slam win this Sunday.
