The Thane Sky Risers clinched their first victory in the inaugural Nuvama Private T20 Mumbai Women's League on Tuesday with a 33-run win over the SOBO Mumbai Falcons at Wankhede Stadium. Key to this triumph was Mansi Patil, who crafted a stylish half-century, enabling the Risers to post a competitive 159/7 in their innings.
In response, the Falcons were off to a shaky start, with Ashwini Nishad dealing a double blow on the very first two deliveries, reducing them to 0/2. Despite subsequent efforts by Riya Chaudhari and Vedika Nikam to stabilize the innings, the Falcons could not sustain momentum. A decisive spell by Prakashika Naik, who took 3/25, tore through the middle order and left the Falcons struggling at 69/6.
A late attempt by Janhvi Kate, scoring 24 off 14 balls, briefly revived hopes, but Trisha Parmar ensured there was no comeback with her 2/17, leading to the Falcons’ first defeat. Meanwhile, noteworthy performances earlier by Arjun Tendulkar and Musheer Khan propelled Arcs Andheri to a comprehensive win against Bandra Blasters in the men's league at the same venue.
