Deepika led the charge for India, netting two goals and earning the Player of the Match accolade. The USA capitalized on an early opportunity, scoring through Ashley Sessa just four minutes in, with Madeleine Zimmer doubling their lead shortly after. India faced an uphill battle but gradually found their rhythm.

Drag-flick savant Deepika skillfully converted two penalty corners, equalizing the score by the second quarter. Momentum firmly on their side, India surged ahead through Navneet Kaur, who netted another penalty corner in the 28th minute, ensuring a halftime lead. Both teams fiercely defended their territories in the second half, but India held firm to launch their Nations Cup campaign victoriously.
