George Russell clinched victory at the Dutch Grand Prix sprint race, starting from pole position, thrilling fans at Zandvoort. His Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli, who finished fourth, further extended his Formula One championship lead over Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton to an impressive 53 points.
Under the changing skies, Russell crossed the finish line 1.360 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, while McLaren's reigning champion Lando Norris secured third place. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton, Antonelli's closest title contender after 11 grands prix and five sprint races, crossed the line in seventh place.
With the anticipation of Sunday's grand prix, the iconic seaside circuit makes its last appearance on the F1 calendar for the foreseeable future. Antonelli holds 224 points compared to Hamilton's 171 and Russell's 168, with significant points still to be claimed.
