George Russell clinched a decisive win in the Dutch Grand Prix sprint race on Saturday, starting from pole position. His performance was a morale boost for Mercedes, with his teammate Kimi Antonelli widening his championship lead to 53 points over Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton.
Russell led every lap of the race, finishing 1.360 seconds ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, with reigning champion Lando Norris of McLaren in third place. The race, affected by rain near the end, saw Hamilton finish seventh, while Antonelli secured fourth place.
With 224 points, Antonelli leads the championship, followed by Hamilton and Russell. Sunday's grand prix promises more action in what will be the seaside circuit's last appearance on the F1 calendar for the foreseeable future.
