Pictures claiming that Mary Kom has become "World Number 1 female boxer again" have gone viral on social media. Congratulatory posts are pouring in for six-time world champion Mary Kom, who grabbed gold in the second edition of the India Open Boxing Tournament recently.

There is no official information yet about any change in boxing rankings. However, the 36-year-old mother-of-three was ranked number one by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) in the Light Fly 45-48 kilogramme category on January 10, 2019, when she scored a total of 1700 points.

This news comes at a time as the six-time world champion Mary Kom in the 51 kg category clinched the second edition of the India Open Boxing Tournament on May 24 at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi AC Indoor Stadium.
