Red Sox switch Wednesday start time due to Stanley Cup Finals

The Boston Red Sox have moved up the start time for Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers in order to avoid a conflict with Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. First pitch for the game against Texas has been switched from 7:10 p.m. ET to 4:05 p.m.

The NHL finale between the host Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. The Red Sox said the switch was "made as a courtesy to fans who want to watch Game 7" of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Boston also made a transaction on Monday, recalling Bobby Poyner from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioning fellow 26-year-old left-hander Josh Taylor to the same affiliate. Poyner appeared in two games for Boston this season, allowing two earned runs over one inning, while Taylor compiled a 10.80 ERA in five appearances for Boston from May 29 through Saturday. --Field Level Media
