Cincinnati Reds rookie Aristides Aquino became the second major league player to record a three-homer performance in his first 10 games of his career on Saturday after going deep in each of his first three at-bats against the visiting Chicago Cubs. Aquino homered to lead off the second inning against Kyle Hendricks and again with two outs in the third before adding another solo shot off Dillon Maples in the fourth. The third homer gave him seven in 10 games, matching Colorado's Trevor Story for the major league record.

The 25-year-old Aquino tied Philadelphia's Bobby Estalella for the fewest games required to notch a three-homer performance. Estalella accomplished the feat in the Phillies' 6-4 win at Montreal on Sept. 4, 1997. Aquino was called up from Triple-A Louisville after fellow outfielder Yasiel Puig was sent to Cleveland at the trade deadline.
