White Sox add RHP Ruiz to bullpen

The Chicago White Sox added right-hander Jose Ruiz to the active roster in advance of Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians. Ruiz was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte, where he had a 1.26 ERA and seven saves in 11 games. He made 35 appearances with the White Sox earlier this season, going 1-2 with a 5.24 ERA. Ruiz had 32 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings but also had 22 walks.

The 24-year old had just seven major league appearances before this season with the San Diego Padres (one) and White Sox (six). He has a 4.99 ERA in 42 games over his brief major league career.
