RW Stone out for Knights with lower-body injury
Right winger Mark Stone won't play Friday night when the Vegas Golden Knights host the Buffalo Sabres because of a lower-body injury. Coach Peter DeBoer said Stone's injury still is being evaluated and that he couldn't say when the team's leading scorer would return.
"There's always fear," DeBoer told reporters about the possibility of a long-term injury. "We don't know, but we'll see." The 27-year-old Stone has 63 points (21 goals, 42 assists) in 65 games. He has four multipoint games in the past 10 contests.
Vegas (35-22-8) is in first place in the Pacific Division by four points.
