The Houston Astros bolstered their bullpen Friday night by acquiring right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly from the Minnesota Twins.

The Astros will send back right-handed pitcher Jorge Alcala and outfielder Gilberto Celestino in the deal that was announced by both teams.

Pressly, 29, is 1-1 with a 3.40 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings across 51 games out of the Twins bullpen this season. He is tied for second among all American League relievers in appearances, tied for third in strikeouts and seventh in strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched (13.03).

Alcala, who turns 23 on Saturday, is 3-7 with a 3.29 ERA, 82 strikeouts and three saves in 19 games (12 starts) between Double-A Corpus Christi and high Class-A Buies Creek in 2018. The Dominican native was signed by the Astros as a non-drafted free agent on Dec. 3, 2014.

Celestino, 19, is batting .299 with eight doubles, four homers, and 21 RBIs in 36 total games between Corpus Christi and Short-Season Tri-City this season. Like Alcala, Celestino is a native of the Dominican Republic and was signed by the Astros as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2015.
