Samsung unveils One UI 5 Watch for Galaxy Watches

Samsung has unveiled One UI 5 Watch, a new software designed to bring an even more personalized and intuitive health experience to Galaxy Watch users.

One UI 5 Watch will be available on the upcoming Galaxy Watch series later this year. Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 series users in the U.S. and Korea can register for the beta program starting this month via Samsung Members app.

One UI 5 Watch features:

  • Sleep Insights - The new UI prominently displays the user's sleep score to provide a clearer snapshot of the prior night's rest, followed by related metrics like sleep phases, snoring hours and blood oxygen levels.
  • Sleep Coaching will be fully accessible directly on Galaxy Watch as well as a paired phone, allowing users to conveniently track their habits anytime, anywhere.
  • Sleep-friendly environment - When Galaxy Watch fall asleep, SmartThings lets them switch off their connected devices to create a more conducive environment for rest

Other improvements include:

  • Personalized Heart Rate Zone - It offers tailored running tools including real-time running analysis and a customized interval training program. By analysing individual physical capabilities, it sets five optimal workout intensity levels (warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard training and max for users to set their own goals.
  • Route Workout - In addition to hiking and cycle route options, it now supports running and walking. In addition, Galaxy Watch Pro users can access the GPX File Database directly via the Samsung Health app.

In terms of safety, One UI 5 Watch's updated SOS system enables direct communication to an emergency service number and also allows immediate access to the wearer's Medical Information once the feature is activated.

Additionally, the Fall Detection feature is now activated by default for users of advanced ages (55 and above).
