US military says it destroys Houthi anti-ship missile

The U.S. military said it destroyed a Houthi anti-ship missile in Yemen that was aimed into the Red Sea and ready to launch. The missile "presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and the U.S. Navy ships in the region," U.S. Central Command said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The U.S. strike took place at 3:45 a.m. (0045 GMT) on Saturday.
