Ukraine's top prosecutor has accused Russian forces of executing two Ukrainian servicemen captured in June in the partially-occupied southeastern Zaporizhzhia region. Despite Russia's continued denial of war crimes during its invasion, Kyiv claims nearly 130,000 such crimes have been documented.

Prosecutor Andriy Kostin referenced a video on social media showing two Russian soldiers forcing unarmed Ukrainian troops to kneel in a trench before shooting them. There has been no immediate response from Russia regarding the allegations.

Reuters has not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the grainy footage. Kostin stated, 'The footage clearly shows that the Ukrainian defenders posed no threat. Yet, they were cynically executed while unarmed.' Investigations confirm the incident occurred in June.
