Ola's Legal Counter to MapmyIndia's Claims

Ola Co-Founder Bhavish Aggarwal has denied allegations of copying MapmyIndia's mapping technology, stating the company is trying to leverage Ola Electric's IPO success. Ola sent a legal notice to MapmyIndia, which hasn't responded. The dispute involves licenses from MapmyIndia used by Ola's subsidiaries, and Ola insists it has its own mapping tech.

In a recent development, Ola Co-Founder Bhavish Aggarwal has firmly rejected accusations of copying mapping technology from MapmyIndia. Aggarwal accused the digital navigation firm of attempting to capitalize on Ola Electric's recent IPO success.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Ola owner ANI Technologies informed PTI that they have issued a legal notice to MapmyIndia, which has yet to receive a response. He criticized MapmyIndia's claims, stating that they aim to exploit the attention around Ola Electric's IPO.

MapmyIndia, in response, had sent a legal notice to Ola just days before the filing of the red-herring prospectus. Despite the ongoing legal tussle, Ola maintains that they have developed their own mapping technology. According to Aggarwal, many of MapmyIndia's customers are switching to Ola Maps due to its superior quality.
