In a bold stride towards gender equality, nearly half of the participants in the Skill Development Institute (SDI) Bhubaneswar's six-month cybersecurity training are women, according to a Friday statement.
This year, 360 cyber warriors from over 20 states in India joined the annual bootcamp, where female participation surged by 49% compared to the previous batch. The programme serves as a pivotal platform for women from tier II and III cities, facilitating their entry into the traditionally male-dominated cybersecurity industry.
Organized by the iAspire Mind Foundation, the bootcamp aims to bridge the cybersecurity talent gap while promoting diversity. Many participants come from marginal backgrounds, including families engaged in farming, weaving, teaching, or small businesses. SDI Bhubaneswar, a mega model skill institute, is a project of oil and gas PSUs.
