India Gears Up for Asia's First Global Hyperloop Competition

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is set to host Asia's first Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) in 2025, marking a significant milestone in transportation technology. The competition will attract 200 students across 10 hyperloop teams and 150 industry delegates from around the world, aiming to foster innovation in the mobility sector.
Dubbed ''Discovery,'' this event takes place at IIT Madras' Satellite Campus in Thaiyur. It seeks to establish India as a central player in hyperloop technology. Participants will engage in competitions such as Pod Demonstration, Hyperloop InnoQuest, and DesignX, emphasizing real-world applications and collaborative innovations.
With India’s transportation scene in focus, the event underscores the nation’s growing role in hyperloop research and technology. Principal Executive Director of the Railway Board, Pankaj Sharma, emphasized its importance as India positions itself as a global leader. The initiative is supported by IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, SAE India, and India's Ministry of Railways.
